Where the separation is

Stand at the edge. Lead anyway.
Alberta Rocky Mountains · Recognize and bridge the gaps between people.
Book Four of Prairie Paths. Between people there is almost always a gap — of perspective, readiness, role or understanding. Leadership is building the crossing.

The Gap is a private, self-guided digital leadership journey set in the Alberta Rockies, among exposed ridges, passes and crossings at alpine dusk.
It is about recognizing where people have become separated, and making shared movement possible again.
The Gap helps leaders examine where people have become separated and why — differences in perspective, readiness, role or understanding — and what is preventing them from moving together.
It works through how leaders create safer crossings, how timing, inclusion and shared responsibility change what is possible, and how movement can be sustained without forcing uniformity.
It is not about productivity, project execution or closing performance gaps. It is about people, and the distance between them.
See the gap clearly before trying to close it.
People are rarely apart for only one reason.
Name what actually keeps people from moving together.
Build a way across that people can trust enough to use.
Who moves, when, and who gets left standing on the far side.
Keep going without flattening people into sameness.
How the digital experience works
The Gap is a book you walk rather than read. The journey is organized across 15 trail markers, and each marker asks something of you before you move to the next. The markers themselves stay unopened until you reach them — the path is meant to unfold as you walk it.
You walk it on your own. Nothing you write is shared, graded or reviewed.
The path is organized across 15 markers, each one a distinct piece of the journey.
There is no schedule and no clock. You walk it as slowly or as steadily as you like.
Each marker combines teaching, realistic leadership situations and honest reflection.
Designed for phone, tablet or computer, wherever you actually think best.
Your progress and your writing are saved, so you can leave the trail and come back.
Prairie Paths is educational leadership development. It is not therapy, counselling or mental-health treatment.
Part of Prairie Paths
Prairie Paths moves outward: from leading yourself, to leading beside one other person, to leading a team through conflict, to bridging the gaps between people. Each book is its own landscape, and each one stands on its own.
